Speakers

After making this webpage I realize now that i don't know what to write... So I thought I'd write about public announcments today. As opposed to say, announcing things via TV or radio, anouncments are blasted across the city from giant loudspeakers. They're really loud and you can hear it where ever you are, even in your house. And what kind of things are anounced? Well, during voting season it's 'Get out and vote!' and during the monsoon season typhoon warnings are broadcast. But you know what the most common thing anounced is? You guessed it, lost old people. Really. Someone's grandpa or grandma gets lost, they (not the old people, their sons and daughters) call the city hall and give a description of their lost family. And you'd be surprised on how often this happens-at least 3 times a month- 'Mr. XXX wondered out of his house this morning and has not been seen since. He was last seen by Seiyu supermarket wearing a green shirt and blue pants. If you see him please contact the city hall." Apparently old people just wonder off a lot here.

Dr Nose investigates: The Baby's head is indeed shaped much like a turnip, indicating a regional tendency towards shape morphing in the likeness of certain ground dwelling vegetables.... typically alien indeed.

I believe your "baby" was the result of the last planetary alignment and, as always, random chance. The cosmic dice were thrown. Consider yourself lucky - from first appearances, the not-yet-cute carbon-based mass resembles the kind, friendly, and hyper-intelligent variation of alien - the type that everybody loves to invite to a party. Although, if the planets were in slightly different alignment, or the Master threw in a different selection of spices in the the soup - you would have a different result indeed, maybe a Woolly Alien Yak?

Hey Shawn, I remember well the Japanese fondness for loudspeakers... The streets of Tokyo sounded like an ambient Las Vegas casino soundtrack was put on loop and mashed up with the pleasant sounds of PokeMon doing speed-balls, gargling robot monkeys, and little girls frolicking for hello kitty dolls ...all put to the familiar rhythm of an 8-bit ringtone...

Where are you living now? Do they do this also in the quiet little town of Shimada? When are you coming back!? Old people get lost here too, but they just call the cops...

JAPANESE SCIENTISTS INVENT SEE-THRU UNDERWEAR!

Researchers in a northern Honshu lab recently invented a line of undergarments that allow researchers to see the organs of the wearers without the need for expensive x-ray vision goggles or the customary several rounds of drinks at the local pub...
